Do you feel out of your depth if someone opens up to you about their mental health? Feel unsure how to respond? Concerned you might say the wrong thing?
In this webinar you will:
- consider what might be helpful/unhelpful when talking to a friend, family member or work colleague about their emotional wellbeing
- learn techniques for facilitating sensitive conversations
- explore how to maintain appropriate boundaries.
The session will start with a conversation with colleagues who have had some experience of mental health difficulties, looking at the things people said that were helpful and those that really weren’t. Barbara Lawton, from Jonathan’s Voice, will then take you through some helpful ideas and techniques.
