Setting out the key developments in this area and reflecting on potential future changes, the lecture will offer you confidence and high-level insight for navigating your clients’ concerns and ideas.
In particular, the lecture will explore generative AI, AI infringement, and online search. Using fashion as a case study, it will set out questions relevant across all industries.
This lecture supports skill set 2.8 online monitoring and enforcement of the Advanced Competency Framework.

Lee Curtis, HGF Limited
Lee has over 30 years’ experience of the trade mark and design law in the UK and overseas having qualified as a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney in 1996. Lee is based in the Manchester Office of HGF and with Rebecca Field runs and produces the Fashion+IP LinkedIn Group with over 15,000 members and the Fashionably IP podcast.
He advises and manages the design and trade mark portfolios of some of the leading brands in the United Kingdom and across the globe.
Suzan Moss, HGF Limited
Suzan is a Senior Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and is based in the Birmingham Office of HGF.
Suzan provides full lifecycle trade mark advice from pre-filing advice, clearance searching, trade mark application prosecution and protection and enforcement. Suzan has a particular expertise in fashion design clearance.
Jack Kenny, ASOS
Jack is a Trade Mark Attorney at ASOS.com, managing the IP strategies for the Topshop, Topman and Miss Selfridge brands.
Prior to joining ASOS in 2022, Jack worked at Marks & Clerk for 7 years, including a secondment to Toronto.
Outside of the office, he enjoys singing and acting in local theatre productions in London.
