Our seminar on the challenges of protecting IP online will prime you to understand the many pitfalls – and opportunities – that this environment presents to us.
With a wide variety of social media and online marketplace platforms available, there are many challenges for brand owners.
Keeping control of a trade mark on these platforms is vital but not always straightforward. We will look at the issue of tackling infringement on social media and online marketplaces and the methods for dealing with such infringements including the use of takedown procedures.
We will cover a variety of key topics, including:
- The issues that takedown procedures can cause and what could be done
- The specific challenges facing social media influencers
- What can be done to control abusive domain names
- The latest developments in UDRP practice and steps that can be taken when confronted with a WhoIs that gives away no information about the underlying owner of the domain name.
This seminar meets skillset 1.3 Domain names and 2.8 Online monitoring and enforcement of the Advanced Competency Framework.
