Matt has over 25 years’ experience in a range of IP fields. Much of his practice covers trade marks in the UK, EU and overseas, protecting and enforcing brands, personal names, corporate identities and logos, with a focus on motorsport, and the leisure/entertainment/F&B industries. He frequently works with other professionals on M&A issues, business transfers, portfolio management, reviews and analyses. Overseas, he’s been closely involved with IP protection in China, and has visited there regularly.
Matt also helps protect technical aspects of inventions and designs. As a patent attorney (with a scientific background in chemistry), he can advise on an array of IP rights in different business and engineering sectors. He’s also involved in negotiating dispute settlements, commercial co-existence agreements and in dealing with multinational clearance searches and filing programmes.
The Legal 500 has described him as ‘very efficient, with great attention to detail, knowledge and excellent response times.'
