We have been shortlisted for two awards at the 2024 MemCom Excellence Awards, for our inaugural 2023 CITMA Paralegal Conference and new mentoring scheme.

The awards, which will be presented in September, celebrate achievements and successes within membership associations.

The MemCom Excellence Awards showcase the achievements of associations and chartered institutes on behalf of their members.

We have been shortlisted for the following awards:

Sarah Vaughan, Head of Events, said: “We are passionate about creating outstanding experiences, support and opportunities for all our members. We are delighted that this commitment has been recognised in this way.

“Thank you to the members, speakers, sponsors, mentors, mentees and everyone else who supported these two initiatives and have helped make their first year a success.

“We are excited about where we can take both the CITMA Paralegal Conference and CITMA Mentoring in the future and taking members along on the journey with us.”

In 2023, we were honoured to be nominated for the digital transformation of CITMA Review, which won its category, and for our online trade mark administration and formalities course.

CITMA Paralegal Conference

Our first ever CITMA Paralegal Conference brought our fastest-growing cohort of members together for an action-packed day. It was also the largest event we had ever held for CITMA Paralegals.

Offering a packed day of development and networking opportunities, the conference ensured that CITMA Paralegals could build their skills in a dedicated setting.

CITMA Paralegals are the fastest-growing category of CITMA members, and this new addition to the CITMA calendar is a chance to come together and invest in professional development.

Thanks to the success of 2023, our 2024 conference is moving to a bigger venue. The upcoming event is available to book now – click here to find out more.

CITMA Mentoring

The CITMA mentoring scheme launched in October 2023 to a strong reception from our members.

We have seen more than 100 sign ups to the scheme, with numbers continuing to grow.

The scheme is designed to connect members who can mutually benefit from each other’s career experience and insight.

Mentees tend to seek guidance on the following topics:

  • Career development
  • Networking
  • Strategic thinking

We can see that the scheme offers a valuable avenue for experienced members to share their insight – more than half of our mentors have upwards of 10 years’ experience.

Our mentoring scheme is proving valuable to members from across the CITMA community: nearly 40% of those who have signed up to receive mentoring are CITMA Paralegals, and another 40% are Chartered Trade Mark Attorneys.

We joined a variety of other membership bodies at the Barbican Conservatory to hear the announcements of the nominees, and to celebrate developments and innovation in the membership sector.

We look forward to attending the final awards ceremony in September at the Hilton Bankside.
