CITMA Paralegal Course 2019/20
We are delighted to announce the 78 candidates who have successfully passed the 2019/20 CITMA Paralegal Course following September’s exam.
All those who passed are now eligible to become CITMA Paralegal members.
The membership category, introduced in 2017 is a commitment we have made to further support and develop the work of trade mark paralegals, administrators and formalities staff.
From 2019 CITMA Paralegal membership has included the continuing professional development (CPD) element to enhance development and maintain standards within the profession.
The CITMA Paralegal Course is the official qualification for trade mark paralegals, administrators and those supporting the work of Chartered Trade Mark Attorneys. It tests knowledge of trade mark and design formalities and official procedures to equip candidates with a full understanding of practices within the profession.
The course covers the roles many trade mark paralegals perform. Topics include how to register a trade mark, searches, renewals and maintenance, changes of ownership, oppositions and cancellations. The course also touches on registered designs and domain names.
The top mark was achieved by Christine Bett from Murgitroyd & Co, who scored 100 out of 100 – congratulations.
We’re expected to welcome a record number of students to the next CITMA Paralegal Course – with over 115 sign-ups already. The first lecture is on Tuesday 17th November.
